The Courtyard Glasshouse

Bengaluru, India

The Courtyard Glasshouse is conceived as a refined, climate-responsive residence that balances transparency with spatial control. Designed for a high-end user, the home expresses luxury through volume, light, and a clear architectural language rather than excess.

Our approach anchors the house around internal courtyards that act as environmental and spatial regulators. Positioned along the south edge, these courts create self-shading conditions, reducing heat gain while enabling cross-ventilation and stack effect for passive cooling. The result is a home that remains naturally comfortable while maintaining a strong visual connection to light and greenery.

The planning emphasizes openness and continuity. Large glass facades and double-height living spaces blur the boundary between inside and outside, creating expansive volumes within a compact footprint. A semi-basement discreetly accommodates auxiliary functions, allowing the primary living areas to remain uncluttered and fluid.
